How to Prepare Cherry and Almond Cake ? - Party Favourities - Weekend Special - Birthday Special Recipes - Viji's New Recipes

 CHERRY AND ALMOND CAKE

 

Ingredients:

  • Maida Flour - 500gm 
  • Maida flour -1 tbsp
  • Butter Butter - 400 gm 
  • Egg - 9 (beaten)
  • Baking powder - 3 tsp
  • Castor sugar - 5 tbsp
  • Orange Juice - 4 tbsp
  • Almond Essence - 3 tsp
  • Cherries - 2 cups (halve) 

For Cake Decoration:

  • Icing sugar - 300 gm(sifted)
  • Flaked Almonds - 5 tbsp 
  • Fresh Cherries - 20

Recipe Direction:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C at convention. Grease a cake dish with butter and keep aside. Beat the butter and sugar together until fluffy and light.
  • Stir flour and baking powder together and beat the eggs, Now add beaten egg and flour to the sugar- butter mixture, also adding the orange juice.
  • Mix evenly till thick and creamy. Toss the glaceed cherries in the extra 1tbsp flour and flod into the batter. Add almond essence.
  • Spoon into the prepared cake dish and bake at 180°C for 80 minutes. When ready, leave to cool for 20 minutes and then remove on to a cooling rack.

 For Decoration:

  • Mix icing sugar with one tbsp of water. 
  • Spread the Flaked almonds and decorate with the fresh cherries over the top of the cake. 
  • Sprinkle the icing sugar over the cake to decorate.
